We attended the Houtzdale Days Parade and brought home 1st place Engine and 1st Place Utility.

We attended the Philipsburg Heritage Days parade on July 11th and brought home 1st place Ambulance, 2nd place Engine and the Judges Award!

We attended the 4th of July Fireman's Parade in Osceola Mills today and won 1st Place Brush Truck and Chief's Award (Best Overall Equipped).

We attended the Winburne Fire Co. parade and brought home 1st place rescue, 1st place EMS, and 2nd place engine. We are looking forward to attending next year!

On Friday, 8 of our members attended the memorial service for fallen Firefighter Jeffrey Buck Jr. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, his significant other, friends and brother fireman. Hundreds of personnel and apparatus showed their respect. Rest Easy Jeff!

The Centre County Emergency Responders have been moved to the new 18 million dollar 800 mgz digital radio system. The new system has more towers, including one in Sandy Ridge. Homecoming is under way. The pet/bike parade opened the events as always. Then the kids enjoyed the fire truck rides. A good crowd despite the threat of rain.

Our latest upgrade to our building is completed. Both restrooms were increased in size, new fixtures including handicap bars are installed. This upgrade makes the building more handicap accessible.

The Mountain Top Fire Co has secured a state grant to assist replacing it Scott SCBA (air pacs). The cost of the project will be near 35,000. The grant will be about 12,000. We also received a grant to assist with the purchase of a new stair chair.

Saturday was another great day at Sandy Ridge. The BBQ dinner sold out and the parade worked its way through town. We would like to thank all those that helped make another very successful homecoming.

The Mountain Top Fire Co has received 2 grants through the PA Fire Commissioners Office. The fire company received 9,976.22 and will be used for building upgrades. The EMS company received $ 5,679.61 for debt reducton.

The Mountain Top Fire Co was awarded a Fire Grant from the Federal Government in the amount of $ 36,55600. This money will be used to purchase 15 complete sets of turnout gear including survivoir flashlights and 10 sets of wildland fire fighting jumpsuits.
