Company 13 was dispatched for a smoke investigation in the area of the Sandy Ridge fire tower. Chief 13-4 responded and held the call to a chiefs call as a controlled burn was reported in Blair County in the Blandburg area. Upon arrival in the area of the Sandy Ridge fire tower, it was confirmed as the smoke haze from the controlled burn and the box was placed available.

Call # 1. 1/11/21.FD Box: 5711Fire-Dwelling Fire400 N SIXTH ST, PHILIPSBURGEngine Rescue 13 was alerted to assist the Philipsburg Fire Department with a dwelling fire on Sixth Street. Company 13 was placed available before responding due to Chief 57 arriving on scene and determining it to be a furnace malfunction.
Utility 13 shut down Route 350 southbound due to an accident in the Bald Eagle FD area. Roadway was closed for approximately 1 hour.

MVA - No injuriesBox 13-40. 4900 Tyrone Pike, RUSH TWP.Engine Rescue 13 and Utility 13 currently on scene of a tractor trailer accident on the Tyrone Pike in the middle of the Sandy Ridge Mountain. Please use caution as the southbound lane is blocked. Delays are expected during the morning commute and the roadway may temporary be closed to remove the wreckage. Penndot is enroute to relieve the fire crew from traffic control duties.
Chief's Call due to Company 36 arriving on scene of a MVA initially dispatched as in their fist due in Taylor Twp however upon their arrival it was found to be in our first due in Rush Twp on the Tyrone Pike. Chief 13-4 answered the call and advised that Company 36 could handle the call as they were already on scene.
Members assisted a homeowner with shoveling snow from his roof due to the extreme weight of the snow.
CALL # 70. 12/19/20FD Box: 1350SPECIALIZED RESCUEHALE RD @ PUMP STATION LN, RUSH TWPUTV 13 and ER 13 responded to extract a person from the woods after an ATV crash. Units were placed available before arriving on scene as no extrication was required and EMS had patient loaded into the Ambulance. Houtzdale FD was also dispatched to assist.
Call # 68.UTV 13 assisted AMB 13-2 with getting unstuck on an emergency medical call during the winter storm.
Call # 67.Utility 13 closed down Route 350 due to the winter storm and multiple disabled tractor trailers on the Sandy Ridge Mountain. Units operated for 7 hours before being placed available.
Call # 66. CLFD Box 23-F. Engine Rescue 13 responded to assist the Houtzdale Fire Company with a working dwelling fire on 1st Street in Woodward Twp. Upon arrival ER 13 crew as assigned to set up on the A side of the structure as the RIT. Crew was then assigned to do a secondary search of the structure for a possible victim and fortunately no one was found. ER 13 crew operated for approximately 2 hours with 8 firefighters before being placed available by Chief 23.
Call # 65. 12/2/20.FD Box: 5711Building Fire300 N FRONT ST, PHILIPSBURGEngine Rescue 13 responded to assist the Philipsburg Fire Department with a reported building fire at the Towers in Philipsburg. Engine Rescue 13 staged on scene until placed available as there was no smoke or fire found. Ambulance 13-2 was also responding at the request of Moshannon Valley EMS with our firefighter rehab equipment but was placed available prior to arriving on scene.
Call # 64. 11/18/20.FD Box: 1330Fire-Automatic Fire Alarm1912 TYRONE PIKE, RUSH TWPPA AMERICAN WATEREngine 14 (currently Engine Rescue 13) along with Truck 57 handled an automatic fire alarm at the water company. Chief 13-4 arrived on scene and was advised a fan motor malfunctioned setting off the fire alarm. Call # 63. 11/16/20.Engine Rescue 13 responded to assist the Philipsburg Fire Department with a reported dwelling fire on E. 8th St in Philipsburg Borough. Engine Rescue 13 was canceled while responding as Chief 57 was on scene with no fire.
