6/4/26. 15:38 hours. Engine Rescue 13 was alerted to assist the Columbia Volunteer Fire Company with a commercial building fire on Phoenix Rd in Rush Twp. Deputy 22 and Chief 13-3 were first arriving confirming smoke showing from the middle of the vacant commercial building. Engine Rescue 22 was first arriving and was able to get a quick knock on the fire and contained the fire to the point of origin. Engine Rescue 13 crew assisted with minimal overhaul and ventilation. Ambulance 13-2 (Mountain Top Fire Co. Ambulance Service) provided the fire scene stand by and provided refreshments on this hot day. Company 13 operated for approximately 45 minutes with 4 volunteers and 3 EMS personnel. Columbia Fire Company and PSP are investigating the cause of the fire.
