Our ambulance stationed at Houtzdale-Ramey EMS. Our unit was loaned to them for a week back in May when their unit was out of service due to their service getting the new power load stretcher installed.

Phase 1 of the flooring project is complete. The meeting room, ambulance and utility bay have been completed. Next month after the May Sunday Dinner, the engine bay and kitchen will be completed.

This work will begin the third week of April and continue through May.We have received a grant from the PA Fire Company/Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program. The money will be used to resurface the station flooring.

On Friday, 8 of our members attended the memorial service for fallen Firefighter Jeffrey Buck Jr. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, his significant other, friends and brother fireman. Hundreds of personnel and apparatus showed their respect.

Update: Mid-January, the work to the inside of the hall has been completed. Feel free to stop and see the upgrade. We have recently been awarded 2 grants from PA state. The first is to have the inside of the fire station insulated and metal siding place on the walls and ceiling.

The Centre County Emergency Responders have been moved to the new 18 million dollar 800 mgz digital radio system. The new system has more towers, including one in Sandy Ridge. This will greatly increase our coverage including the Rt 350 corridor.

The Mountain Top Fire Co placed in service 5 new Self Contained Breating Apparatus. Scott NXG 5.5 45 minute "air packs" were partially funded with a PA State grant. Total cost was nearly 33,000.00.
